High altitude work

The work is extremely tough, firstly because the high altitudes can be of up to 3400 metres above sea level, which means oxygen levels are lower, the weather is extremely cold and windy and workers must carry out their duties in extremely dangerous environments. Outdoor work is carried out mainly in summer, while winter will be used for the development of a large vertical well and for the tunnel connecting the Pointe Helbronner Station with the Torino Hut.

We’ll let the pictures do the talking, since they are better at silently conveying the thrill of working on the construction of a cableway system!
